Street Analysis
The Street Analysis panel displays information about the Street Design, based on the values set in the Input Panel.
Information based on Street Length
This information is in the first two columns of the Street Analysis screen.
The Street Width and the Number of Cycle Parking Spaces will be displayed at all times.
You will need to enter a Length for the street before the other values are calculated.
-
Average Height/Width Ratio - This calculates the average height of the two buildings enclosing the street, and displays the result as a ratio of height to width.
-
No of Parking Spaces - This calculates the total number of on-street parking spaces in the street, and also displays an average parking density in spaces per unit length.
-
No. of Trees - This counts the total number of trees in the street, based on the length of the street, the tree spacing, and the offset (the length at each end of the street without any trees).
-
Pavement Area - This is the total area of 'Pavement' and 'Shared Surface' Elements in the street, based on their width, and the street length.
-
Construction Cost and Maintenance Cost - This is a total of the costs entered for each Streetscape Element, based on the length of the street.
Information based on Units and Entrances
This information is in the third column of the Street Analysis screen.
The 'No. of Entrances' and the 'Ave Entrance Spacing' are based on the values entered in the Street Enclosure Input Window.
-
Total No. of Units - This calculates the total number of units based on the no. of entrances, and the No. of Units per entrance.
For example, if there was only 1 unit per entrance (as in a row of houses), and there were 30 entrances, then there would be a total of 30 units.
If, however, there were 6 units per entrance (as in small blocks of flats), then the number of units would be greater.
-
On-street parking/unit - This calculates the number of on-street parking spaces per unit, based on the total number of parking spaces and the total number of units.
Please note this is only based on the information provided in the Input Panel, and if this is part of a masterplan scheme there may be other possibilities for parking spaces behind the buildings).
-
Average entrance Spacing - This averages out the distance between entrances on both sides of the street, as an approximate measure of active frontage.
