You can import other CityCAD files into your current CityCAD file.
To do this, go to File Menu: Import: CityCAD file and the 'Import City File' will be displayed.
Imported file information
Here, you can view information about the file you are importing and click 'Browse' to choose another file if necessary.
Basic import settings
You can edit the insertion point of the CityCAD file, and choose whether to import the model only, the file defaults only, or both.
Merge custom land uses, groups and phases
All CityCAD files contain custom land uses, groups and phases which you can set a name for. However, they also have a unique ID which is used internally to identify the land use, group or phase. If you import a CityCAD file, this may contain custom land uses, groups or phases which have the same name as custom land uses, groups or phases in your model, but a different ID. Sometimes you may want to merge these two groups into the groups in your existing model, and sometimes you may want to keep them separate.
When you import a CityCAD file, all of the custom land uses, groups and phases are listed in this dialog. For each one, you can select from the drop down menu on the right which custom land use, group or phase you want to merge with, or you can choose to import it as a new custom land use, group or phase.
There are three shortcut buttons:
- Match by name - this is done by default, and will suggest merging things with the same name.
- Match by ID - this will only merge things if the ID is the same
- All New - this will not merge anything.
