Custom parameter settings

Here, you can create and manage custom parameters which can be applied to CityCAD elements.

On the left is a list of custom parameters. If you select one, you can change its properties on the right.

On the right are custom parameter settings

Scope

Under the 'Applies to' heading, you can select which types of elements the property applies to. For example, a traffic count parameter could be assigned only to routes, and would not be available for blocks.

Type

Select from the drop down menu to change the type of the selected parameter.

  • Number - a number must be entered
  • Multiple Choice - one of the predetermined options must be selected
  • Text - you can enter text directly into the Properties panel when editing Blocks and City Items.
  • True / False (boolean) - a true or false value must be entered

Embedded custom parameters

There are two custom parameters which are embedded into CityCAD - Environmental Rating and Housing Tenure. These are shown in italics on a grey background, and are multiple choice parameters. Although the parameters cannot be edited or deleted, you can edit the multiple choice options for each one.

Block/City Item/Route Shading

You can shade elements according to custom variables. Please note that the type of shading will vary depending on the type of custom variable.

By default, if you have shaded according to a custom variable which is a Number, then elements will be shaded using a 'heat map' colour gradient from highest (red) to lowest (blue). Otherwise, a different colour will be used for each discrete value. You can edit shading for custom parameters in the Shading preferences panel.
